Guitar, but not as you know it

In the 28 years since I first picked up the guitar, I’ve realised that beginners are often hindered. Not deliberately, but the common method of teaching leads to an over-reliance on shapes, a lack of understanding about music, and an inability to play with freedom across the neck. The result? As you progress to an intermediate player, you have to revisit most of what you learned and fit it into a new paradigm.

Six String Sage was started to fix these problems.

I’ll be sharing the things I wish I had known years ago, to help you avoid the frustrations I had.

But more than that, this is a place to enjoy and appreciate the guitar. To be around other people who enjoy it, and we’ll progress together.
